Calm Dragon – Move Mountains

ImageCalm Dragon, Move Mountains.

It sounds like a Native American name, right? Its a new mantra that just adopted me – I’ll tell you how in a minute. I don’t know if any of you are fans of Dances with Wolves, or remember the character “Stands with a Fist”. I always thought that’s the kind of name I would have given myself, and probably others around me. One of my heart friends is always calling me a “tiger”, and I’ve been referred to as an “ice princess” at a previous job, but never a dragon.

Now that I’ve had Lyme disease and experienced firsthand the “Lyme rage” and complete loss of emotions and stability – I believe that a fire breathing dragon just might be more appropriate for a name. If my kids voted, it would be a definite yes because they love the Narnia movie series. When Eustace gets turned into a dragon is one of their favorite parts (The Dawn Treader). They also remember well the “angry days” and are glad they happen less frequently now.

There were certainly times I wished I could breath out fire and burn up some people/doctors that were not compassionate or  were not listening to me. On the other hand, I’m sure glad on my Lyme rage days I didn’t have the power of a fire breathing dragon to accidently destroy my loved ones that I couldn’t live without and cherish immensely.

To the second half of the mantra – it doesn’t take much to understand what our mountain is. This Lyme disease and all the trouble it causes is more like an entire mountain range than just one lowly ole mountain.  Whatever size or scale your Lyme disease mountain, it still looms as an inpenetrable force and obstacle, unable to budge.

Who wants their mountain moved? I do, I did!

Many of you may know, if you’ve been following, that I have chosen non-traditional protocols for my chronic Lyme treatment. The last visit to my doctor uncovered another “layer of the onion” in my healing process and required a new compound remedy – the name of the two things in the remedy that my body needed? You guessed it – Calm Dragon, Move Mountains.

I heard my doctor mention something witty about moving mountains, but due to the slight delay of brain actvity (I still don’t digest information very quickly – I’m getting punchlines to jokes hours later) I didn’t notice it at first, until I got home and read the bottle after a few days. Yep, that just about sums it up. Calm Dragon, Move Mountains. Calm the dragon of Lyme anger and frustration it produces and move the mountain of Lyme disease out of my life for good.

How many of you have a mantra through this disease or need to adopt one?

Go forth Lymies and calm your dragon and move your mountains.

He replied, “Because you have so little faith. Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matthew 17:20)
