Too Cold for the Lake in August?


 

ImageThis time last year I thought I would never be able to drive again or be strong enough to handle all that mommy duty required. This time last year, I was barely able to exercise, not able to clean my own house because of the exhaustion of carrying the vacuum up and down the stairs. This time last year, I fought hopelessness on a daily basis and held tight with a white knuckled grip to my Lord and Savior – or I would have drowned.

Dare I even think about 2 years ago how badly I felt and how hopeless the battle against this beast of LYME seemed. 

How did I get better? One day at a time, one moment – one breath at a time. The days are long, but the years are short. Here I am 2 years from my LYME ground zero explosion and I am able to ski and swim a the lake with my kids.

For those of you from central or southern US, you know that looking for heat in August to enjoy the cool refreshment of the lake should not be difficult. Surprise surprise – this year too cool and rainy most days.

It is unexpected – just like your climb out of this Lyme pit. It will be surprising and unpredictable. But it will come. Just believe and fight each day for it.
