Ride the Ducks “quack quack”

ImageThese “ducks” can be seen at various famous tourist places all over the US.

We happened upon our bunch of ducks in Branson, MO where they tour Tablerock Lake. Now don’t get me wrong – the lake is gorgeous, its why we go to that area in the first place. And don’t jump to conclusions that I am anti-poultry. I am not. I eat duck and we own chickens.

Now, what’s odd to me about these “ducks” is that cars should be on land and boats should be in the water. These “ducks” don’t look like they belong anywhere exactly. Take a look at the photo – they look weird on the highway and look like they are about to sink in the water.

They are apparently a great time because every “duck” we saw was loaded down with happy people. The kids loved seeing them and yelled out “DUCK” at every chance on sea or dry land. My husband joined in the fun making quacking noises at every sighting.

I wondered for my fellow Lymies – do you feel like you don’t belong anywhere in particular? Do you feel out of place now at work because you are pretending not to be sick but still feel horrible? Do you feel like you are sinking even though you know you are afloat?

I feel a bit like these quirkish quackers most days now since being ill and now being well. Not many really get your struggle. Not many get how really bad you feel and how difficult it is some days just to breath. Not many will understand the expenses. But the rest of us quirkish quackers in Lyme do get it and we have great compassion and support for those with us in our flock.

Back to the “ducks” -besides driving a “car” straight into a lake has to be against all instincts you have. There are so many similar moments in Lyme where against everything you know and believe you have to do the hard, weird and terrific thing to fight your battle.

So go on Lyme “ducks” drive straight into that lake and enjoy the view……
