Happy Warrior Mother’s Day

flowers bouquetA Tribute to all the Warrior Mom’s I know and love that have special needs kids, chronically ill kids, have lost a child or are currently trying to parent while battling illness themselves.

Do you know that moment, that moment before a “diagnosis” is handed out? That moment when you know you need to know, but for this moment and the next you could live on just wondering without the knowledge? Oh, how I wanted to live in that moment of not knowing longer. But then I realized, the only place not knowing was going to take me was to more hardship and more strife. (Support in Lyme – J Fairbairn)

There is no other job on the planet harder, more heart wrenching than to walk each day trying to do the regular harrowing duties of motherhood all the while advocating for your kid’s health and daily breath. The yin and yang of regression and living, football and emergency rooms, birthday parties and breathing treatments, playdates and blood tests – it is a landmine to parent a sick or ailing child. It makes marriage more difficult, challenges the best of friends, tests the very boundaries of a career, and the daily burdens to bear.

For those of you who don’t get an “atta boy” – here is comes from me – Atta Girl.

Keep up the good work.

Thank you for loving your child and sacrificing sleep and life and friendship for what it takes to do what you do to keep your family moving forward. You are doing a fabulous job no matter how many of the plates you are spinning fall to the ground. Some of them need to break, you can’t do it all, just do the most important things the best you can. Your family is worth fighting for, the research, the blood sweat and tears are worth it.

You are a Momma Bear and your kid’s are better off for it. You are awesome, you are incredible. Your heart has broken more and cried more than 100 women put together on your cul-de-sac. It is the burden that has been chosen for you to bear because you are tough, you are amazing and you are a fighter.

I am fortunate to know you, to walk in the shadow of such greatness. It gave me and still gives me great courage on the road I am on. Thank you for your legacy. Thank you.

There will be times of doubt, times of tremendous pressure and only an empty chasm of information and seemingly no map of where to go. “Beloved, whenever you are doubtful as to your course, submit your judgment absolutely to the Spirit of God, and ask Him to shut against you every door but the right one. Say, ‘Blessed Spirit, I cast on thee the entire responsibility of closing against my steps any and every course which is not of God. Let me hear Thy voice behind me whenever I turn to the right hand or the left.” From Paul, by Meyer from Streams in the Desert.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

Many Blessings,
