I have been reminded the past few days of how terrible and hard it is to find rest in this Lyme battle. Between the physical pain and discomfort, add in the mental ability to fight off anxiety and discouragement and you have a full fledged insomnia panic attack-a-palooza that lasts for hours. Oh, how could the body be so tired and not yet find sleep?
I’ve been talking to a couple who suspect Lyme in the husband and his nights have been terrible. If you are in the same place where rest just won’t come, I hope these scriptures will give you as much comfort as they did me.
I had many many sleepless and horrific nights – honestly, after many of them I was surprised to still be alive the next morning. I literally chanted the scripture from Exodus over and over again. I let it surround me and permeate me and do what God’s word will do – have power over my physical, my emotional, my mental and my spiritual being.
I pray for you fellow Lymies that as I pray for my friend to find rest tonight and relief from his pain, you will also find the sleep and rest your body desparately need.
Exodus 33:14 The Lord replied, “My presence will go with you and I will give you rest.”
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:28-29
Until healing,
Janice
